Bislab consists of 30+ driven individuals with mostly technical backgrounds from companies and institutions such as Microsoft, Cognite, CERN, McKinsey and Oxford.

This role is the whole finance function in one position. Bislab is VC funded and operates across the Nordic countries, which means group consolidation, statutory reporting in several jurisdictions, currency exposure and transfer pricing between entities - and soon also countries beyond the Nordics. You will take strategic responsibility for all of it: you set the direction for the finance function and you run it. 

We are still a small company, so the person who owns the group accounts is also the person who chases the overdue invoice and prepares the board meetings. As Bislab grows, the mandate grows with it. We expect you to build the function AI-first. Not a finance team that automates later, but a function designed around automation from the first month, where reporting, reconciliation and analysis run far leaner than headcount suggests.

Responsibilities

As Head of Finance at Bislab, you take strategic and operational ownership of the full financial stack:

• Strategic responsibility for the finance function across the group, including structure, policies and priorities.
• Consolidated group accounts across our entities.
• Statutory reporting, filings and compliance in each country we operate in, coordinating local accountants and auditors.
• Currency management: exposure, hedging considerations and multi-currency reporting.
• Transfer pricing and intercompany agreements between group entities.
• Accounting oversight, monthly and annual close, and audit coordination.
• Budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling for the group.
• Cash flow, liquidity, working capital and treasury management.
• Board and investor reporting, and support in fundraising processes.
• Selecting and implementing the systems, controls and processes we will scale on.
• Bringing financial insight into commercial decisions: pricing, unit economics, customer profitability and contract terms.
• Financial and structural setup of new markets, including tax and compliance considerations.
• Invoicing, collections, payroll coordination and the everyday finance work that comes with being a small company.
• Automating all of the above with AI and modern tooling, so the function scales without scaling headcount.

What We’re Looking For

• Solid finance experience, ideally from a technology company or scale-up, spanning both the strategic and the operational side.
• Experience with group structures: consolidation, multi-country reporting, currency and preferably transfer pricing.
• Strong command of accounting, controls, reporting and compliance, with the ability to close the books yourself when needed.
• Proven ownership of budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management end to end.
• Genuinely AI-native: you use AI daily in your own work and have automated real processes, not just talked about it.
• Comfortable being the entire function, with no one to delegate to
• A practical, execution-focused mindset 
• High standards, low ego and the ability to work across commercial, product and technical teams.
• Fluency in Norwegian, with excellent English skills.
