Bislab consists of 30+ driven individuals with mostly technical backgrounds from companies and institutions such as Microsoft, Cognite, CERN, McKinsey and Oxford.
This role is the whole brand, marketing and communications function in one position. Bislab has a strong product and real commercial traction, and the brand has been shaped along the way by founders, product and sales. It has served us well in Norway. It is not yet built to carry a company that is launching new products, opening several new countries in parallel and hiring new people to do it all. You will take strategic responsibility for the brand and you will do the work: positioning, identity, voice, content, campaigns, PR, events and the materials our sales team and partners put in front of customers.
We are a challenger. Our customers are the people inside banks, lenders, insurers and telcos who believe data and AI should be doing far more than the incumbents deliver. The brand needs to make that position obvious in seconds.
Why join Bislab?
- Own the brand from day one. You define how we communicate the Bislab brand - how it looks and what it means.
- Three audiences, one mandate. Customers, the market and talent. Brand, marketing, PR and employer branding sit with one person, so the story stays coherent wherever people meet it.
- Nordic and beyond. The brand you build has to work across Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland today, and in markets outside the Nordics soon after.
- AI-first. You will run a brand, marketing and communications function that is materially leaner than its output would suggest, because you use AI and automation wherever it makes the work better or faster.
- Close to leadership, product, sales and hiring. You will work directly with the founders, Head of Sales, the growth team, product and the people doing the recruiting.
- Meaningful technology. Our products improve credit processes across industries and countries. At Bislab, you will contribute to technology with genuine societal impact.
- Early-team ownership. As an early team member you’ll have the opportunity to own a share of the company and directly influence our strategic direction.
Responsibilities
As Brand Director at Bislab, you take strategic and operational ownership of brand, marketing, PR and employer branding:
- Brand strategy and positioning: what Bislab stands for, who we are for and how we differ from traditional credit bureaus, expressed clearly enough that the whole company can use it.
- Visual identity, tone of voice and design system across web, product, sales materials, events, social and recruitment, including how they evolve as we grow.
- Content and thought leadership: the articles, customer cases, reports and talks that build trust with senior risk and finance professionals.
- PR and communications: linkedin presence, media relations, press releases and announcements of partnerships, launches, funding and hires, industry media, podcasts and awards, and a network of journalists and commentators in each market we enter.
- Events: selecting, planning and running the conferences, customer events and roundtables where Bislab should be visible.
- Sales enablement materials: decks, one-pagers, product sheets and proposal templates that look and sound like one company.
- Employer brand: how Bislab presents itself to the people we want to hire, from careers page, job descriptions and LinkedIn presence to community and campus activity.
- Internal brand and culture communication: making sure the people already at Bislab understand and can articulate what we stand for, and giving them what they need to be visible as ambassadors.
- Brand adaptation for new markets and new products, working with the teams opening each country.
- Brand governance: templates, asset libraries and the systems that keep 30, 60 and 100 people on-brand without a review queue.
- Managing external agencies, PR partners, designers and freelancers where it makes sense, and doing the work yourself when it does not.
- Building the brand, marketing and communications operation AI-first, so output scales without scaling headcount.
What We’re Looking For
- Broad experience across brand, marketing and communications from a B2B technology company or scale-up, ideally in fintech, financial services or another sector where buyers are senior and technically demanding.
- Proven ownership of a brand end to end: strategy, identity, voice and execution, not one part of it.
- Hands-on PR experience: you have pitched journalists, written the press release yourself and know how to get a smaller company into the industry conversation.
- Employer branding experience: you have helped a company attract talent it could not have attracted on size alone, and you understand that candidates read everything.
- Good taste and the ability to write. You do not need to be a professional designer or copywriter, but you need to recognise excellent work, brief it precisely and produce it yourself when needed.
- Experience building or scaling a brand across several countries.
- Commercial instinct: you understand that the brand exists to help us win customers and hire the right people, and you measure it accordingly.
- AI-native in practice: you use AI daily in your own creative and production work and have built real workflows with it, not just experimented.
- Comfortable being the entire function, with no one to delegate to in the beginning.
- A practical, execution-focused mindset and comfort operating without a playbook.
- High standards, low ego and the ability to work across commercial, product and technical teams.
- Fluency in Norwegian or Swedish, with excellent English skills.
We care less about your current title than your capacity and potential.
